Color Guard
|
Modern Color Guard is a physical activity, sometimes a competitive sport, using organized routines using combinations of flags, sabres, mock rifles, and other equipment, as well as dance and other interpretive movement.
As for rules or customs, although parade units are not governed as such, competitive colour guards are split into various divisions.
- A Class - Beginning programs and performers.
- Open Class - The intermediate developmental level of performers.
- World Class - The most advanced programs and performers.
Within these divisions, standardized judging criteria are applied when evaluating performances. Click here for a descriptive video of this 'sport of the arts.'
