DEVELOPING LEADERS FOR THE SPORT INDUSTRY
The Toronto Sports Council (TSC) is proud to be working with Humber College on the placement of student interns from their Sport Management Program. We need your help. We are looking for individuals and organizations who would like to work with an intern. The interns are not paid and the internship periods begin in September and January of each year. Competent sport managers are required to manage the business of sport. At the TSC, we feel that we all share the responsibility of providing developmental opportunities for our future sport leaders. The Sport Management Program at Humber College is part of their reputable School of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism. The six-semester Sport Management Program at Humber College prepares students to manage the business of sport. Students develop a thorough knowledge of the structure and functionality of the Canadian sports industry, including specific responsibilities and governance structure of organizations, rules and regulations governing sports, coaching standards, tournament and championship scheduling, and funding arrangements for the industry. Students have the opportunity to acquire the practical, organizational, business, human resources and administrative skills needed to pursue a career in the sport industry.
